NOTE: (6/10/2020) THIS CAMP IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICANTS. This camp covers basic debate, acting, storytelling, and speaking on the spot to help students build confident speaking skills. The one-week camp culminates in a small performance by the end of the program and is a great opportunity for kids to try out public speaking in an easy, safe environment. This year, we are offering our camp online, but will still provide a high-quality, engaging experience that optimizing learning and limiting screen time. Students will have opportunities to work in small group as well as receive private 1:1 coaching. Limited to 15 students, so register soon (only a few spots left!)
To give you an idea of what your child will experience this summer, we will be focusing on public speaking skills through acting monologues and scenes, debate practices, and storytelling. On the final Friday, each student will perform a monologue, participate in a final debate, and tell an original story. The plan for each day is as follows:
  • 10-10:30: Morning game and storytelling practice (over Zoom)
  • 10:30-11:30: Independent work or private coaching on acting monologues
  • 11:30-12: Yoga, scavenger hunt, or monologue sharing (over Zoom)
  • 12-1: Lunch break on own
  • 1-1:45: Debate practice (working in partners and teams over Zoom)
  • 1:45-2: Closing activity (over Zoom)
