Take a Stand is a mini-course for teens interested in becoming more persuasive on important societal issues. This two-week mini-course focuses on helping students speak persuasively about current issues and events. Otherwise known as “extemporaneous speaking”, students practice stating their opinions in a clear and engaging way about a range of controversial topics. This course is great for those who were interested in our sold-out debate camp!
Students of all experience levels are welcome! The course is great for students who are opinionated, interested in advocacy and making a difference, and/or getting ready for speech competitions during the year. This course is $100. We meet Monday through Friday for two weeks (10 sessions). Sessions take place from 9am to 11am from July 20th-24th and July 27th-31st.
Registration is first come, first served, until we sell out — class will be capped at 15 people.
