Wednesdays, 5pm-7pm, for students ages 12 to 18
1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20 showcase on 2/24
This free 5-week program welcomes middle & high school students to train to become distinguished speakers who are prepared to speak in real-world situations, such as performing at The Practice Space community showcases and other Bay Area events. Become part of a team of youth speakers who are ready to speak effectively about anything, anywhere, in any format!
Examples include: writing advocacy speeches for Town Hall meetings and community organizing, preparing a dramatic performance or poem for a community showcase, practicing debates for public demonstrations, and learning to tell an engaging personal story for Ted talk events and other youth summits. This program will repeat each semester and you can repeat as many times as you’d like. We welcome repeat students — feel free to bring along a friend! Even though this is a free program, all students must register on our website.
